Honored as a Top Performing All-Inclusive Luxury Resort as Reviewed by Travelers on the World’s Largest Travel Site

The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Oprah’s Favorite Things Winners, Mr. & Mrs. Sims, Escape to Paradise

This past Fall, Namale, Fiji’s #1 Resort & Spa was honored by being selected as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2012. With this we became involved in an amazing journey along with 30 military spouses who, little did they know, were selected as the recipients of Oprah’s Favorite Things.

On November 18th, Oprah’s Favorite Things 2012 aired and the 30 deserving military spouses were not only surprised with all of Oprah’s Favorite Things but also the grand finale surprise of a trip to Oprah’s Favorite…Namale, Fiji’s #1 Resort and Spa!

We could not be more honored to celebrate these military spouses and reward them with a much deserved relaxing stay in our paradise. As each of the couples makes the trip to Namale, we plan to share with you their experience, including images showcasing their amazing time with us in the beautiful South Pacific.

So without further adieu, we would like to introduce Mr. & Mrs. Sims and share with you their trip of a lifetime to Namale, Fiji’s #1 Resort and Spa!

We were so excited after receiving this coveted gift from Oprah Winfrey on her Military Spouse Edition Favorite Things Show. I wanted to be sure I did not waste one moment of this trip so we went to the Namale website to plan out a schedule of all of the things we wanted to do. However, we soon learned the uniqueness of the resort creates the impression of your own private play ground where days are not planned and time is obsolete. Upon arrival at the airport in Savusavu, we were greeted by a driver waiting to whisk us away to paradise. The scenic drive to the resort and the song filled welcome from the staff gave us a feeling of peace and tranquility.

Although it rained a little on the first night, we were thoroughly impressed by the romantic accommodations. Chilled champagne and netting atop the bed reminded us of the exclusiveness of the location nestled in the midst of a rain forest. We absolutely loved the beauty of the garden villa. On the second day, we were relocated to an exquisite villa overlooking the ocean; filled with every amenity you could imagine such as a private pool and spa which we were more than happy to use daily. My husband continues to rave about the sheer deliciousness of the food and of course how impressed he was with the customer service. My favorite part of the trip was the opportunity to do as little or as much as you wanted.

In the midst of a soothing vacation, Namale provided the opportunity to experience local entertainment on site as well as a guided adventure to the local villages. We were both amazed by the views as went horseback riding through the coconut plantation. Our stopover at the spa was absolutely incredible and relaxing; the waterfall massage is one of the most natural and rewarding parts of the experience. I really loved how the resort infused recycling and natural surroundings into a five star experience.

Our memories of the kind gentle people of Namale Fiji and the unbelievable serenity will be with us for a life time.

Namale Resort & Spa Ultimate Love Story Contest Winner Announced

In celebration of Valentine’s Day this year we decided that Namale Resort & Spa would host an Ultimate Love Story Contest and we could not have been more thrilled with the response and positive feedback! At the close of the love story entry period we received over 100 love story submissions from across the nation, each with their own unique & beautiful story.

Our panel of judges reviewed each story, judging them on creativity, originality, romance & emotion to narrow down the entries to the Top 15 love stories. These top 15 stories were then posted for the public to vote on, and after thousands of votes were casted we are excited to announce the winner of the Ultimate Love Story Contest…

A wonderful brother!

Wow! Life couldn’t get

Four beautiful children
To hug and to kiss!

And just when we thought
Life would start to slow down
Heaven sent us one more
Little girl to have around!

And so, here we are
Almost 20 years later
With 5 beautiful children
Life couldn’t be greater!

He still rocks her world
After all of these years
Through the good and the sad
Through the laughter and tears

But it sure would be nice

Oprah Winfrey Surprises Military Spouses with The Ultimate Fiji Island Getaway

Los Angeles – For the first time since 2010, “Oprah’s Favorite Things” returned for a two-hour special event on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Like never before, the show revealed the must-haves gifts for this holiday season to a group of unsuspecting Military Spouse of the Year finalists in Washington D.C. The final surprise of the night came when Oprah Winfrey, working with Tourism Fiji, surprised the spouses with a trip of a lifetime to the beautiful Fiji Islands and Namale, Fiji’s #1 Resort & Spa. The trip includes two round trip tickets on Air Pacific, Fiji’s International airline, and a five-night stay at the luxurious all-inclusive resort Namale.

A group of students from The Conservatorium of Music in Fiji were chosen to unveil the final “Oprah’s Favorite Thing: 2012” gift to the unsuspecting group of military spouses. They entered the room singing in cultural attire and entertained the spouses, along with Oprah Winfrey, with a traditional spear dance. Amidst wild cheers and tears of joy, it was revealed that eight of the spouses had never had a honeymoon, and others had not been on a vacation with just their spouse in many years.
